ARSENAL: Wenger Defends Ozil, Calls Him Exceptional

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has defended under-fire midfielder Mesut Ozil, insisting that he is an "exceptional player".

The Germany international has not scored in his last eight Premier League matches and failed to record an assist since December. Ozil was slammed by certain sections of the medai after the Gunners' 5-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday, having tamely conceded possession in the build-up to two of the Reds' quick-fire goals during a devastating 20-minute salvo.

However, Wenger has dismissed suggestions the former Real Madrid man was any worse than his team-mates at Anfield, and says the 25-year-old is still finding his feet in English football.
