CONFIRMED! Frank Lampard Joins Manchester City

Frank Lampard cannot wait to get started after sealing his short-term move to Manchester City. City boss Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Saturday that Lampard - who signed for new MLS franchise New York City last month after 13 glittering years at Chelsea - had opted to join the Premier League champions ahead of the 2015 MLS season, which begins next March.

And City made the move official on Tuesday, with England veteran Lampard expressing his delight at getting the chance to carry on playing in England prior to his debut campaign stateside.

"Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City," the 36-year-old told City's official website.

CARMELO ANTHONY: I Will Take Pay Cutr To Re-Sign For Knicks

Carmelo Anthony says he is willing to accept less money to re-sign with the Knicks if it helps the team attract big-name free agents, according to published reports.

"Without a doubt,'' Anthony said Friday while in New Orleans for All-Star Weekend. "Any opportunity I have to build that up in New York, I'd do it. I told people all the time, always say, 'If it takes me taking a pay cut, I'll be the first one on [Knicks owner] Mr. [James] Dolan's steps saying take my money and let's build something strong over here.'"

Anthony has said he plans to opt out of the final year of his contract and test free agency this summer. He said Friday that his "first priority" is to re-sign with the Knicks, who are 12 games under .500 at the All-Star break.
