Home boy, Ogho-Oghene Egwero was the major casualty at the All Nigeria Championships, which ended yesterday at the Warri Township Stadium in Delta State.
Egwero, was the favourite to win the race, having swept through the semi-final with the best time. But he was dusted by Seye Ogunlewe, an emerging sprint talent in a tight race, which the starting officials made a mess of after a false start.
Ogunlewe, pulled out of the pack even as Egwero struggled to put his race back together after the distraction at the start. But it was all a matter of seconds and Ogunlewe raced to finish at 10: 19; Egwero finished at 10:21 while Jonathan Nnmaju was third with 10.30 seconds.

ITS USAIN AGAIN!!! Bolt Sets New 100m Record
Jamaican sprint superstar Usain Bolt has set a new best time of 9.98 seconds for the rarely run 100 metres indoors at Warsaw’s national football stadium. The Olympic champion and world record holder eclipsed the previous best mark for the distance of 10.05 set by Namibian Frankie Fredericks in 1996. The Warsaw stadium had its roof closed for the event.
Bolt, in action as preparation for Zurich’s Diamond League meeting next week, said: “Above all I wanted to get through this season without any injury as I’ve suffered enough over the past few years.
