History repeated itself as Deportivo came back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Barcelona at the Camp Nou, spoiling Barcelona’s Club World Cup send-off.

In last season’s fixture between the two teams at the Camp Nou, coming in the final week of the season, Barcelona jumped out to a two-goal lead only to see Deportivo rally late with two goals to claim a precious point that kept them in the first division.

Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu is confident the club have what it takes to win six major trophies in 2015.

The Camp Nou side are already halfway through following their Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey success in 2014-15 and can make it six pieces of silverware in one calendar year if they also claim the European Supercup, Spanish Supercup and Club World Cup.

Barca last won the sextuple in 2009 under Pep Guardiola, but Bartomeu is hopeful they can repeat the feat under Luis Enrique this year.

With three days to go before the name of the new FC Barcelona president is revealed, one of the candidates, Joan Laporta, was interviewed by Radio MARCA. The former Azulgrana president came out on top after the debate with the rest of the candidates: "I feel more prepared than ever to be Barcelona president."

"We've turned the polls on their heads. We're ahead, with 36% of the voter intention", he said.
According to Laporta, this is down to his personality - something which he accuses his main rival for the Barcelona presidency, Josep María Bartomeu, of lacking: "It would be reckless to have Bartomeu as president after conducting a poll to sell Messi, and when Barça have been prosecuted for the first time in history over the Neymar case."

Barcelona Won't Let Pedro Join Chelsea Says Abidal

Barcelona cannot afford to let long-serving winger Pedro leave the club this summer, according to Eric Abidal.

The winger, who has been at the Barca since 2004, signed a contract extension with the club in April that ties him to the Camp Nou side until 2019. The renewal, however, brought his release clause down from €150 million to €30m and he continues to be linked to a move away from Catalunya this summer.

Abidal, who is part of Joan Laporta's presidential campaign and is to be named the club's sporting director if he wins the forthcoming election, insists that the 27-year-old is still a key part of the team and must stay where he is.
