Formula 1: Red Bull Hods Engine Crisis Talk With Bernie Ecclestone

Red Bull are in talks with Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone to try to solve a deepening engine supply crisis that could lead them to quit the sport.

The team are finalising a split from engine partner Renault but have been unable to secure a replacement on terms that satisfy them.

Mercedes have refused to supply them and Ferrari will not sell them their definitive 2016 engines next year.

FORNULA 1: Vettel Not Comfortable With New Car

In last weekend's Chinese Grand Prix the reigning world champion was told for the second successive race to move aside for his quicker team-mate, and he was reluctant to do so.

Although Ricciardo has impressed his team since stepping in to the seat vacated by Mark Webber, Red Bull boss Christian Horner has revealed that Vettel is having problems with the RB10.

"I think that Sebastian is having a tough time at the moment because he hasn't got that feeling from the car that he is looking for," said Horner.

FORMULA 1: Red Bull Title Hopes Locked In Damage Limitation

Red Bull has admitted that its 2014 Formula 1 title hopes are going to be locked in damage limitation mode until Renault improves its engine.

Although Red Bull just missed out on another podium finish in the Bahrain Grand Prix, as Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth and Sebastian Vettel sixth, the gap to Mercedes left it in no doubt about the advantage the winning team has right now.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner said: "I think for the first time we have seen their proper pace when they have gone for it - and they are not hanging about.
