UEFA Champions League Playoffs: Ahmed Musa Shoots CSKA Moscow To Glory

Nigeria star Ahmed Musa on Wednesday night fired the goal which qualified CSKA Moscow to the UEFA Champions League group stage for the third season in a row.

CSKKA won 3-1 at home to reverse a 2-1 loss to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal a week ago and advance on a 4-3 aggregate. And it was the Africans Musa and Seydou Doumbia from Cote d’Ivoire, who made it possible for the Russian army team.

Doumbia, who also scored in the first leg in Portugal, grabbed a brace with Ahmed Musa providing the assist for the Ivorian's second goal of the night.

UEFA Champions League Playoffs: United, Lazio Gunning For Qualification

Manchester United are looking to complete the job over Club Brugge in their Champions League play-off second leg on Wednesday while Italy's Lazio may have slightly more to do to secure a place in the group stages.

The English Premier League giants have a two-goal lead to take to Belgium after a 3-1 win at Old Trafford last Tuesday, while Lazio have a slender 1-0 advantage for their second leg against Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

A 2-0 win for Brugge at the Jan Breydelstadion would be enough to take them through at United's expense (on the away goals rule), but United -- three-time winners of the Champions League -- are confident after Marouane Fellaini's late third goal in the first leg.

A superb double by Memphis Depay took Manchester United a step nearer a return to the Champions League group stages as they ran out 3-1 winners over Belgian outfit Club Brugge on Tuesday in their play-off first leg clash.

While United -- who missed out on Champions League action last year -- will take a comfortable looking two-goal lead to Belgium, Sporting Lisbon will have a slender one-goal advantage to bring with them to Moscow, although their 2-1 win over CSKA ended the Russian side's nine-game unbeaten streak in Champions League qualifying games.

United were hit by an early setback with an own goal by Michael Carrick, who beat Sergio Romero -- preferred once again to David de Gea -- to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
