Coach Adamu Ejor’s men began their 2015 African Beach soccer championship campaign on a bright note as they caged the hosts in the opening game. Nigeria defeated Seychelles 10-1 in the opening game of the 2015 Caf Beach Soccer Championship played on Tuesday afternoon.
Brace from Emeka Ogbonna, Bartholomew Igbenegbu and Abu Azeez plus strikes from Victor Tale, Taiwo Adams and Emmanuel Ohwoferia were all the Super Sand Eagles needed to breeze aside the hosts in the 11-goal thriller played at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex, Roche Caiman.
The hosts played with high energy and did not play poorly, especially considering this was their debut African Beach Soccer Championship, but the Nigerian veterans helped carry them to the big win.
The win gives Nigeria three points and the top spot in Group A. Nigeria will next face Egypt on Thursday, hoping to secure another win and more points while Seychelles will face another tough opponent, Cote d’Ivoire.
