Ighalo was involved in Saturday’s opening goal at home when he forced West Ham defender Cresswell to put the ball into his own net on 39 minutes.
However, there was no question about who scored Watford’s second goal as the Nigeria forward fired into the roof of the net from the top of the box after 48 minutes.
Victor Moses, who unlike Ighalo was not picked by Nigeria for World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland, started for visiting West Ham, but was replaced for the second half.
Watford have now climbed to ninth on the EPL table with 16 points from 11 matches.
