Super Eagles Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye Hails Carl Ikeme's Superb Performance

Oluwatoyin Ibitoye has hailed Carl Ikeme after the shot stopper had heroic saves to win three points for Wolves in the Championship.

Super Eagles media officer Oluwatoyin Ibitoye took out time to hail Nigeria's No. 1 shot stopper after his heroic display against Brington won three points for Wolverhamton Wanderers in a match that won Ikeme his third clean sheet for Wolves.

Ikeme has been the second choice keeper at Wolves but it seems the shot stopper will remain as the first choice goalkeeper at the championship club now.

Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme his in fine form as the shot stopper produced heroic saves to denial Brighton any chance of scoring.

Carl Ikeme was outstanding, a force of nature, on Friday as he inspired Wolverhampton Wanderers to a 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in an English Championship game.

Ikeme produced no less than five top class save to guarantee maximum points for the visitors at the American Express Community Stadium.

Tanzania 0-0 Nigeria: Carl Ikeme Shines In Debut Match For Super Eagles

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars produced a stunning second half performance but failed to do enough to stun three-time African champions, Nigeria on match day two of 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying.

Saturday’s game at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam which finished 0-0 was Sunday Oliseh’s first after he replaced former coach, Stephen Keshi and he opted to hand 29-year-old goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme (below) his competitive debut in place of Vincent Enyeama who asked to be excused from the tie following the death of his mother.

It turned out to be a master stroke as the Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper made no less than six stunning saves to prevent the Eagles from suffering a humiliating defeat.

Nigeria: Super Eagles Captain Vincent Enyeama Loses Mother

Enyeama who was replaced by Femi Thomas of Enyimba FC has lost his precious mother and that's the reason why the Eagles captain has pulled out of the Tanzanian encounter. Reports suggest that Ikeme will replace Enyeama in goal.

Vincent Enyeama’s mother has passed away it has emerged, hours after Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh told media that the goalkeeper opted out of the Super Eagles ahead of their trip to Tanzania without an excuse.

The 101-capped Enyeama posted a message on his Instagram page on Wednesday afternoon apologizing to Nigeria fans but fell short of stating the reason for his absence.

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is one of the surprise call ups to the Super Eagles team by new coach Sunday Oliseh. "An email arrived at the club and the manager Kenny Jacket asked me what he should do." Ikeme says in an exclusive interview with Calvin Emeka Onwuka when they met in London. "I thought it was a joke by one of my team mates so I called the number in the email and spoke to coach Sunday Oliseh."
