Gary Neville has been named the shock new manager of Valencia until the end of the season, the La Liga club have confirmed.

The former Manchester United and England full-back's first game in charge will be the Champions League clash with Lyon on December 9, as he takes his first steps in football management.

Gary Neville has told FourFourTwo he believes the Arsenal of now are a world apart from the strong and fearsome outfit that predated the Invincibles.

The former Manchester United captain, currently part of Roy Hodgson's England coaching team, says the north Londoners became "precious" in their unbeaten season of 2003/04.

The money quote came with regards to Luis Suarez and his alleged dive for what Liverpool felt should have been a penalty late on against Chelsea for a foul by Samuel Eto’o.

Jose Mourinho was quite vociferous in suggesting Suarez dived whilst Liverpool fans were upset with referee Howard Webb.

Yet, Neville played down the “dive” claiming there were 20 others during the high octane Premier League match.
