GETAFE 0 REAL MADRID 3: Ronaldo Hits Brace Again
Despite stubborn resistance from an out-of-form Getafe side, a typically Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Real Madrid powered to a 3-0 win in La Liga. Cristiano Ronaldo was at the double as Real Madrid swept aside their Copa del Rey elimination at city rivals Atletico's hands with a 3-0 win at Getafe in La Liga.
A 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu only resulted in a 4-2 aggregate defeat as Real's Copa defence was ended at the quarter-final stage, with further frustrations creeping through in a goalless first half at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Sunday.

BARCELONA 2 GETAFE 2: Barca's Title Hopes In Tatters After Lafita's Late Equalizer
Barcelona's title hopes were dealt a real blow as Getafe scored in the dying seconds to earn a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, rounding off a neat passing move to convert Dani Alves’ pull-back. The Argentine, unmarked on the penalty spot, timed his run perfectly to meet the ball, finishing with aplomb.
But the hosts didn’t have it all their way as they were soon pegged back, with Lafita equalising for the visitors. Javier Mascherano was partly at fault having conceded possession deep in his own half, and then gifting Getafe a free-kick on the edge of his own penalty area in an attempt to make amends for the error.

Lionel Messi came off the bench and scored twice on his return from injury and Cesc Fabregas also netted a double as Barcelona strolled to a 4-0 win at home to Getafe in their King's Cup last 16, first leg on Wednesday.
Messi was given a rousing ovation by the home fans when he replaced Andres Iniesta in the 64th minute at the Nou Camp, the World Player of the Year's first appearance since straining a thigh muscle in November.
Dominant Barca, who rested a number of regulars, were already two goals ahead by the time the Argentine forward entered the fray after Fabregas headed them in front in the eighth minute and added a penalty in the 63rd.

BARCELONA: Lionel Messi Set For To Come Back Against Getafe
Barcelona received a welcome boost on Tuesday when forward Lionel Messi was given the all-clear by medical staff and included in the squad for Wednesday's King's Cup last 16, first leg at home to Getafe.
The Argentine World Player of the Year has not featured for the Spanish league champions since straining his thigh on November 10, the latest in a series of muscle injuries that plagued him throughout 2013.
His return will give the team a lift as they prepare for Saturday's La Liga game at title rivals Atletico Madrid who are level with Barca at the top on 49 points from 18 matches.
Coach Gerardo Martino did not reveal at a news conference whether Messi would feature against Getafe, the team he scored one of the greatest goals of his career against in a King's Cup game in April 2007.
