Confrontation Between Luis Enrique & Messi True - Jeremy Mathieu

Mathieu has admitted that a confrontation took place between Luis Enrique and Messi after the Real Sociedad game. While speaking with the private French-Monegasque radio station RMC, he attempted to play down the incident by explaining that confrontations of that kind can happen in any training session and at any club.

"It happened when we returned from our holidays. All of a sudden Leo lost his composure in training after being on the receiving end of a foul that wasn't called. The situation got pretty tense and a few harsh words were exchanged", explained Mathieu.


The defender believes that the whole event has been exaggerated since it involved the 'Azulgranas'.

"These things happen all over the place, but with us it's been exaggerated.

The incident has been given a greater importance than it should have and has been blown out of all proportion. That's the problem we have playing for Barcelona", the French player observed.
