Arsene Wenger has revealed that Krystian Bielik will go straight into Arsenal's first-team squad once the defensive midfielder completes his move from Legia Warsaw. The 17-year-old travelled to London on Friday in order to undergo a medical, while the move will cost Arsenal in the region of €3 million plus add-ons.
In an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza, Bielik admitted he was "not ready" for first-team football straight away but Wenger insists is prepared to take a "gamble" on the midfielder.
"Yes, he will go into the first-team squad," Wenger said. "He's a defensive midfielder, 6ft 2in [tall], has a good energy level and technical level.
"It's a gamble but, on what we saw, it's worth to take the gamble. It's an awful lot of money for a player if he doesn't succeed. If he does succeed, then it's cheap."
