Stephen Keshi Blasts Boko Haram Over Abuja Bombing

A place in the last 16 of the Brazil World Cup failed to console the Nigeria manager, Stephen Keshi, who was visibly distraught on hearing the news of the latest attack to rock his country.

“What are they doing these guys? They did it the first game, and now they did it again. It is sad!” remarked Keshi after his team went through to the next round, despite losing 3-2 to Argentina.

Before the game, an explosion in a shopping centre in Abuya, the capital of Nigeria, left at least 21 dead. It is not clear whether the attack was directly related to the World Cup. Last week, just hours before Nigeria’s opening game against Iran, a suicide attack in Damaturi killed 14 people who had gathered to watch the game between Brazil and Mexico.

SAD!!! Bombing kills at least 14 football fans in Nigeria

At least 14 people were killed and a further 26 were wounded, including some seriously, in a suicide bombing carried out at a World Cup screening event in Nigeria on Tuesday night.

The blast was triggered shortly after kick-off during the match between Brazil and Mexico, which a group of fans had gathered to watch in Damaturu, the capital of the Yobe state.

"My brother lives nearby. He and his son are wounded", Alhaji Ishiaku Yajub, a local resident, told German press agency 'dpa'. "He told me a lot of bodies have been taken to the hospital mortuary".

It’s been almost two weeks since more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls were kidnapped by jihadi group Boko Haram in Nigeria.

According to reports, Boko Haram members abducted the girls from their dormitories, loaded them onto trucks, before setting the boarding school ablaze.

The girls are aged between 16 to 18.

OH GOD!!! Boko Haram Force League Suspension In Maiduguri

The Nigeria league has announced the immediate suspension of all matches in Maiduguri until further notice following recent attacks by terrorists’ group Boko Haram.
 
The suspension order was contained in a statement from the office of the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), which cited current security intelligence as the reason for the decision.
 
"We are constrained to put on hold all Premier League games in Maiduguri until further notice due to latest security intelligence from the area and the suspended games include this weekend's match between El-Kanemi Warriors and Abia Warriors," the statement read.
