Sad! Stephen Keshi Loses Wife To Cancer

After 3 years of fierce battle with cancer Kate Keshi died on Wednesday after being ill. The death is certainly a big loss to former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi who is sad to see his love die at age 54.

Keshi, who is currently in the USA, said his late wife had been ill for a while before giving up the ghost on Wednesday.

“She was ill for a while now and I’m still in shock of this great loss,” Keshi said.

Keshi Sue NFF For N1.2billion Compensation

Keshi is really unplesaed with the way the NFF dislodged him from the job for a special Pinnick annoited candidate who Keshi feels his far low to him in experience.

Former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has asked for a $5m (1.2billion Naira) compensation from the Nigeria Football Federation over his sack earlier this month.

Former Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh has been charged with the task of taking over as head coach of his country. Sunday Oliseh has been appointed as the new head coach of Nigeria.

Former Nigeria captain Oliseh, who won 63 caps for his country and played his part in the Africa Cup of Nations success in 1994, was confirmed as Stephen Keshi's replacement on Wednesday.

Former Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi was “not on the same page” with his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) vice president, Seyi Akinwumi, has revealed. Akinwumi said that Keshi’s position became untenable because it looked unlikely he would achieve set objectives.

“We (NFF) are not very eager to open old wounds because this is a new era where we are about to appoint a new coach for the national team.

“We looked at the whole scenario surrounding his appointment with us and we thought that we were not going in the same direction in terms of what we hoped in the short and long term.

Nigerian Coaches Are Already Lobbying For Eagles Job - Chief Adegboye Onigbinde

With the sacking of the Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles, some Nigerian coaches have started lobbying and jostling for the national team job.

Former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, who said this during a telephone interview with our correspondent, said some indigenous coaches have sent emails to him seeking his support for the Eagles job. Onigbinde said Nigeria still has a few coaches, who are intelligent and experienced enough to coach the Eagles successfully, and dismissed the call for a foreign coach for the national team.

He added that the removal of Keshi may affect the Eagles, considering that Keshi’s replacement would come with a new programme and may choose a different set of players.
