Wow! International Federation of Football History and Statistics Names Kanu In World Legends List

Former Super Eagles and Arsenal star Kanu Nwankwo has been named as part of world's top football legends. With several silverware and awards to his name Kanu is the most successful footballer to come out of Nigeria.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have named Nwankwo Kanu in the top 48 legend of football worldwide.

IFFHS released the first phase of the list which includes Brazilian greats Pele and Ronaldo da Lima.

Gunners Remember King Kanu On 39th Birthday

English Premier League club Arsenal have wished their former striker Nwankwo Kanu happy birthday.

Born August 1, 1976, the former Super Eagles skipper celebrated his 39th birthday yesterday,  and the Gunners posted a tweet to congratulate their former striker.

“Morning all – we start the day by wishing a very happy birthday to former @Arsenal star @papilokanu! #KingKanu, ”Arsenal said on twitter.

WORLD CUP 2014: Super Eagles Will Fly Over France Says Kanu Nwankwo

‪‪Ex-Super Eagles skipper Nwankwo Kanu has tipped the team to reach the quarter-finals of the Brazil 2014 World Cup by beating France in their second round clash‬‬ on Monday.

‪‪Reacting after the Eagles’ 3-2 loss to Argentina saw Nigeria qualifying for the second round for the first time in 16 years, Kanu said the team was wonderful against the Argentines and would be better against France‬‬.

‪‪”This team may bulldoze their way to the semi-finals. After the way they played Argentina, nobody should write them off. I think the French game will suit the Eagles and I see them battling past France for a quarter-final ticket,” Kanu told Complete Sports in Brazil.

When we played against Iran, they were not really coming out. The Bosnians, of course, wanted to win so they came out and that suited our pattern of play, which was good for us.

Do you feel you will be able to earn the point you need against Argentina to ensure a Round of 16 place?
Yeah, I think so, because what has happened with the Nigerian team is that they keep getting better game after game, so I believe when we play Argentina the confidence and the winning mentality beating Bosnia will bring will mean we will be able to do well against Argentina.

Kanu Nwankwo Undergoes Another Heart Surgery

Nigerian football legend and founder of Kanu Heart Foundation, KHF, Nwankwo Kanu at the weekend underwent corrective heart surgery at the Cleveland Hospital , Ohio, USA. The hospital handled his first surgery in 1997, and performed the current one during his yearly routine medical.

Coordinator of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia confirmed the success of the surgery and added that the former Super Eagles captain was recuperating at the hospital.

If his investments at home and abroad is anything to go by, Nigeria soccer idol, Nwankwo Kanu should arguably be rated as Nigeria’s wealthiest footballer at the moment.
