Siasia Replaces Isaac Success With Victor Osimhen For AFCON U-23 Championship

Victor Osimhen has finally been invited to join the U-23 team ahead of the AFCON championship. Most pundits are of the opinion that the team needs a real scoring striker.

FIFA U17 goal king Victor Osimhen has been made a late replacement for Granada striker Isaac Success on Nigeria squad to the U23 AFCON in Senegal.

Success was originally listed on the final squad submitted and Nigeria may now have to pay a fine to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for this late change.

Nigeria Football Federation’s first vice chairman, Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi has told Complete Sports that the National U-23 Eagles must work hard to ensure they win the return leg match of the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier against Congo in Point Noire in less than two weeks’ time.

Reacting to the first leg match played in Port Harcourt at the weekend which saw the Nigerians led by Coach Samson Siasia winning with a slim 2-1 result, said the players need to work harder ahead of the second leg while calling on the coaches to plan very well for the away game.
