U-23 Eagles Must Work Hard To Win In Congo - Seyi Akinwunmi

Nigeria Football Federation’s first vice chairman, Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi has told Complete Sports that the National U-23 Eagles must work hard to ensure they win the return leg match of the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier against Congo in Point Noire in less than two weeks’ time.

Reacting to the first leg match played in Port Harcourt at the weekend which saw the Nigerians led by Coach Samson Siasia winning with a slim 2-1 result, said the players need to work harder ahead of the second leg while calling on the coaches to plan very well for the away game.

“Well, we have seen the result, it was fair but our boys need to work really hard to make sure they win the return leg match or at worst play a goalless draw there. I believe we can make it happen but it requires hard work and that is why we are calling on both the players and the coaches to see the away match as very crucial and one they must win,” he said.

Akinwunmi however reassured that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF will continue to give the team all the support it needs to qualify for the main qualifier scheduled to hold in Senegal later in the year.

“We have always given the team our support and we will still continue doing more for them to qualify for the Olympics,” he added.
