Real Madrid: Ramos And Perez Ends Rift

Its a sign of relief for Real Madrid, Benitez and the many fans who do not want to see Sergio Ramos leave the club has the both parties have settled their mis-understanding.

On Sunday in Guangzhou, the meeting that everyone had been waiting for finally took place. The basic details of the captain's new and improved contract with Real Madrid seem to be sorted and an agreement much nearer to being signed.

There were four men present at the meeting between club and player. On behalf of Real, there were Florentino Pérez and club director José Ángel Sánchez. Sergio Ramos arrived with his agent and brother René by his side. René's presence in China was key to sorting things out and a positive sign that the player would at least be prepared to sit down and listen to what the club had to say.

The talks did not result in a definitive agreement, but there now exists a line of communication between both parties, with the air having been cleared considerably. Ramos made it quite clear just how angry he was with all the leaked information and rumours that had come from the club regarding the player and his brother. Ramos was especially upset at the club's snipes and both JAS and Florentino regretted all that had gone on.

In principle, the idea is to continue negotiating, or rather get back to doing so once everyone has returned from the tour of Asia. However, with René present in China, further talks may be had in preparation for the final big meet at the Bernabéu. Whether they occur or not, the important thing for all concerned is that all hatchets, for now at least, seem to have been buried.
