The defending champions are nine points adrift of leaders Sunshine Stars and need a remarkable turnaround in performance and luck to win a fourth consecutive title.
And Gambo, who is yet to feature in the league in this campaign for the Sai Masu Gida due to the gunshot injury he sustained on their way to honour a match day one fixture against Heartland, is adamant his side can still catch up with the frontrunners.
The lanky hitman said he and his colleagues will give their all to salvage the situation when the league resumes from the two weeks mid-season break this weekend.
“It’s not over for us yet,” he told completesportsnigeria.com.
“We have two home games against Lobi Stars and Heartland and if we can get maximum points in those two, then we can say we are back on track.
“Although we are nine adrift of Sunshine stars, I still believe we can catch up with them.”
Newly appointed handler of the side, Mohammed Babaganaru, will take charge of the team for the first time against Lobi Stars on Sunday.
