The Bundesliga player of the year was surplus to requirement at the Bridge before Jose Morinho sold him out to Wolfsburg. In just a short spell he became a big hit and if he finally gets a move to Man City then the League might be good as bought already.
Kevin De Bruyne will join Manchester City in the next 48 hours, according to The Sun.
The tabloid claim that the Belgian playmaker will be flown into Manchester by private jet tomorrow in order to tie up the final parts of the deal.
City have been pursuing De Bruyne all summer, and see the Belgian international as the final piece of their attacking puzzle.
They’d already had a couple of bids rejected for the man voted player of the year in the Bundesliga last season, but are now reportedly ready to meet Wolfsburg’s asking price, and splash 80m euros on the ex-Chelsea man.
De Bruyne had appeared to commit his future to Wolfsburg at a public club event on Monday, but it turned out he’d been ‘tricked’ into saying those words, and that his decision had already been made to leave the German side for a return to the Premier League.
