Baba Ganaru Is Back As Kano Pillars coach

The two-time League title winner has dumped Nasarawa United to reclaim his former post with the reigning champion

Coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru has been confirmed as coach of Nigeria Professional Football League reigning champions Kano Pillars, returning for a second stint in charge of the club.

Baba Ganaru replaces Okey Emordi, after resigning his post as manager of Nasarawa United.

Emordi was sacked after he failed to lead Sai Masu Gida to a good campaign, and they crashed from this year's Federation Cup and exited the Caf Champions League early.

The Borno-born gaffer won two consecutive NPFL titles during his first spell, while on an interim capacity which ended in March 2014.

The chairman of Kano Pillars, Kabiru Baita has vowed to provide the new manager the best support to ensure the team is rebuilt and repositioned.

"Kano Pillars have already reached an agreement with Baba Ganaru to become the club's new technical adviser," media officer Idris Malikawa told Goal.

"The management has promised to give him all the support and urged him to focus on rebuilding the team," he said.

Pillars are currently in ninth place after the first half of the season.
