Hull City: Sone Aluko Scores 1st Goal In 7 Months

Sone Aluko scored his first goal for Hull City after going seven months without getting on the scoreboard on Wednesday as they beat Fulham 2-1 in an English Championship game.

The former Aberdeen player scored the winner for Hull City in the 86th minute to secure the three points at stake.

The Nigeria forward’s last goal for Hull City was in an EPL game on December 3, 2014, when he was on target in a 1-1 draw at Everton.

STEVE BRUCE: Aluko Will Only Leave Hull City For N1.9 billion

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has insisted that he will do all within his power to hold on to Nigerian forward Omatsone Aluko.

Bruce, however, knows the winger is in demand but will not want to part ways with the 25-year-old unless the interested party is willing to part with as much as £7 million (about N1.9 billion).

Aluko has recently found first-team opportunities difficult to come by following his recovery from a recent injury setback. The Nigerian recently spoke of his frustration at not playing regularly at the KC Stadium following the arrival of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic to the club.

Mikel, Moses & Aluko Make Substitute Appearances for Clubs

Victor Moses was a late substitute as Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 at Anfield to continue their push for a first Premier League title in 24 years.

The Nigerian, who has been consigned to the bench for most of his loan period with the Reds, replaced Brazilian match winner Coutinho in the 89th minute.

Coutinho had scored the winning goal a few minutes earlier in the 78th and Brendan Rodgers' introduction of Moses was able to help the hosts shore up the midfield after Liverpool were reduced to 10 men following the sending off of Henderson in added time.

HULL CITY: Sone Aluko Happy To Be Back From Injury

Hull City striker Sone Aluko is happy to be back from injury to play his first game for the Tigers in the English Premier League. Aluko bowed out to an Achilles injury during an EPL game in November 2013 and in the process missed a couple of games for the club he joined from Rangers of Scotland.

He has revealed that his target is to play more games for Steve Bruce's side after making an appearance as a substitute in Hull City’s victory at Sunderland over the weekend.

"The great thing is I am back now and looking forward to playing plenty of games," Aluko told Hull Daily Mail.

Sone Aluko rejects new Hull deal

Hull City striker Sone Aluko has rejected a new deal with the Premier League club, according to manager Steve Bruce. The Nigeria international, who has been ruled out of action until February with a torn Achilles, is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Bruce confirmed that discussions over extending the 24-year-old’s stay at the KC Stadium had taken place, but that the forward had failed to agree terms. Bruce told The Mirror: “Sone has turned down our latest offer, which was a very good one, and there won’t be any more discussions for the time being. “All contract talks at the minute will be put on the back burner, and we shall concentrate on getting Sone fit.” Aluko has scored once in eight Premier League games this season, with Hull having netted nine in total.
