The FIFA presidential election will be held early next year to crown in a new president. Several people across all continents have come out to show interest in running the affairs of football at its highest office.

FIFA Presidency: Zico Refuses To Invite Orji Kalu & Segun Odegbami For Public Debate

Zico has sent an email to the FIFA candidates he deems fit as serious. Alas, no Nigerian candidate was considered. We have said here before that its a big joke coming out of Nigeria when you suddenly wake up and hear that Orji Ujor Kalu is contesting for the top sit. As if that is not enough the 63 years old football mathematician recently declared his interest too. 

Segun Odegbami is an ex-footballer that also played during the Zico era but everyone can foresee that he's chances are slim. One might say Segun might be considered serious if he runs for CAF presidency. I wonder what their thoughts will be if they here that they were not invited for a debate. 

One can still argue that a debate by Zico doesn't matter, it's really true but it shows you where the pendulum is swinging to. I can boldly say it here that non of the two candidates can get 10 votes... i repeat 10 votes..... Read the full story below.

Brazil Backs Zico's FIFA Presidency Bid

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) said on Thursday it is backing national football legend Zico's bid to replace Sepp Blatter as Fifa president.

The endorsement was a big boost for Zico, 62, who has previously conceded lacking support from Brazil's footballing top brass. However, to establish himself as a formal candidate he would still have to get backing from four other countries.

"Zico has our support to pursue his candidacy. If he gets the other four signatures, the CBF will back his application," the body's president, Marco Polo Del Nero, said in a statement.
