The 49-year-old admits the task will not be easy, but still believes his side have all it takes to make history and do the country proud. The former Golden Eaglets coach is confident that the depth, size, and quality of players in the squad could go far in breaking the international jinx at U20 for Nigeria.
"I'm so happy. This is my third World Cup as a coach. I won the U17 World Cup as an assistant to Yemi Tella and again in U17 as the chief coach," Manu told Goal.
"I'm very grateful to God and everyone who have given me the chance and truely believed in me. It is the dream of every coach to win a tournament such as the World Cup. So my desire to win my third World Cup in New Zealand.
On the training tour in Germany, Garba admitted the European nation was the best destination for his wards as it is affording them state-of-the-art facilities to finalize their preparation for the World Cup.
“I know we can do it and believe strongly in the quality of players we have. The coaching crew and the players want to make Nigerians proud by winning the U20 World Cup, he continued.
"We are happy with the opportunity to have our training tour in Germany. It is good for us as we are having access to good facilities that will help us to be physically, psychologically, technical and tactical ready for the World Cup.
“we know the players and they equally know what we expect from them. We are all committed and determination to succeed by consolidating on our success at the African Youth Championship," he concluded.
Coach Manu Garba is expected to submit his final 21-man squad list on May 15 for the World Championship, which is scheduled to hold from May 30 to June 20, 2015.
