Monk has been at the club for 11 years, first as a player before replacing Michael Laudrup as manager in February 2014 on an interim basis before signing a three-year deal at the end of the 2013-14 season.

After being sacked by Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers has gotten a new job. The former Swansea boss expressed his disappointment after the manner of termination of his appointment. Rodgers has braced off his sack and he's set to work as a TV pundit.

Jurgen Klopp agreed on Thursday to become troubled Liverpool's new manager and was expected at the club later in the day, British media said.
The English Premier League side have been looking for a new boss since Brendan Rodgers was sacked on Sunday. The former Borussia Dortmund coach had been the hot favourite from the start.

Liverpool's sacked manager Brendan Rodgers said on Monday he was "incredibly disappointed" to be leaving the club after almost 3-1/2 years in charge at Anfield.
The Northern Irishman, whose contract was terminated on Sunday after Liverpool's 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby at Everton, failed to win a trophy during his tenure.
"I am, of course, incredibly disappointed to be leaving Liverpool Football Club. It has been both an honour and a privilege to manage one of the game's great clubs for the last three years," Rodgers, 42, said.

Maverick striker Mario Balotelli blamed his poor Liverpool stint on manager Brendan Rodgers' tactics after completing his season-long loan move to AC Milan on Thursday.

Brendan Rodgers believes Christian Benteke will become a “huge player” for Liverpool and insists the striker is suited to his side’s style of play.
The Belgium international completed his £32.5 million move from Aston Villa earlier this week but former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has questioned whether the 24-year-old will be able to adapt to Rodgers’ “short, sharp and incisive passing game”.

Sterling missed the start of pre-season training earlier this week, citing illness as he sat out Wednesday and Thursday's sessions before reporting on Friday.
