Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz claims he rejected a new contract at Chelsea to join the Ligue 1 champions. The Brazil international made the move from Stamford Bridge to the French capital during the close-season, having been with Chelsea since 2011.

Luiz has adapted relatively well to life with PSG, despite Laurent Blanc's men making a stuttering start to their quest for a third consecutive Ligue 1 title. Having drawn six of their opening nine league fixtures, PSG trail leaders Marseille by seven points, although David Luiz believes he made the right choice in leaving Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz claims he would have been as happy had he joined Barcelona instead of the French champions. The Brazil international moved to Parc des Prince from Chelsea this summer as the Spanish giants began pursuing a number of high-profile defensive targets.

Luiz was Brazil's stand-in captain for the World Cup semi-final against Germany with Thiago Silva suspended and was guilty of a poor display, finding himself at fault on a number of occasions as the Germans ran riot, winning 7-1.

David Luiz Confirms Signing Five Years Contract With Paris Saint German

Brazil defender David Luiz has revealed he has signed a five-year deal with French champions Paris Saint-Germain. His current club, Chelsea, and PSG both released statements on their official websites last month confirming that a deal  - which Goal understands is worth €50 million - had been agreed.

And now the 27-year-old, who is hoping to lead the Selecao to their sixth world title and their first on home soil, has confirmed he will be playing in Ligue 1 for the next five seasons.

Jose Mourinho interrupted the post-match interview with David Luiz and Eden Hazard and thanked and congratulated his players on their performance.

Mourinho even joked that David Luiz had got his yellow card deliberately so that he could go home to Portugal for a few days and take some time off.

Mourinho then hugged his players and left leaving both players and the interviewer quite puzzled.

Maybe not a classic Jose moment but  great trolling by the special one!
