Striker, Ikechukwu Uche, has reacted to comments of the Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, that he refused to honour a call-up to the national team. Keshi said earlier this week that Uche was contacted by the secretary of the Super Eagles, Dayo Enebi, to know if he had a South African visa ahead of the match against Bafana Bafana.
The Nigerian manager also said he had included Uche in the team for the Afcon matches against Congo and South Africa, but chalked it off following what he claimed was a poor response from the Villareal striker to the Super Eagles' secretary.

Am Surprised At Stephen Keshi`s Statement Says Ikechukwu Uche
Estranged Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche has said that he was surprised by coach Stephen Keshi’s declaration that he was an undisciplined player hence he was dropped from his list of players for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Uche has not played for the Eagles since the 2013 Nations Cup where he was used sparringly by coach Keshi. And despite being the highest scoring Nigeria striker in the European League, Keshi has turned his back on the Villarreal of Spain player. He said his reason for not including Uche in his plans was because the player was badly behaved and he rarely played to instructions.

Garba Lawal Blames Keshi For Dropping Ike Uche
Former Super Eagles utility player, Garba Lawal has disagreed with national team Head Coach Stephen Keshi over the dropping of Villareal FC of Spain striker, Ike Uche from the team that will represent Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad on issue bothering on discipline.
Speaking in Abuja, Lawal stated that it is wrong of Keshi to drop one of the country’s best strikers for alleged acts of indiscipline adding that on the contrary the young man does not have a disciplinary record with the Super Eagles.
“I don’t believe in that statement. When you say a player is not disciplined, there should be evidence to prove that. If you say he is undisciplined, how come he is doing so well at his club without any complaints?," says Lawal.
