NPFL: Relegated FC Taraba Players Protests Outstanding Salaries In Front Of State House

Relegated side FC Taraba took a protest to the state house but met the absence of the Governor. The relegated players made a demand for their out-standings and also blamed Shehu Dikko's led LMC for refusing to enforce sanctions on the club. Several clubs in the NPFL have found their selves in this situation and issues like this still affect the progress of the league.

FC Taraba players took to the streets of Jalingo before landing at the Taraba Government House on Friday to protest the delay in payment of their outstanding wages.

The players blamed the League Management Company (LMC) for their woes after it failed to enforce the six points penalty deduction from the team’s haul on the league table when the state government reneged on the promise to pay the debts before the end of the season.

Enyimba have pocketed the sum of 30 million Naira (about $150,000) for winning this year’s Nigeria league.

Enyimba skipper Chinedu Udoji was at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Sunday to receive a dummy cheque of the prize money from Nigeria league boss Shehu Dikko.

NPFL: LMC Reschedules El-Kanemi, Ifeanyi Ubah FC Match

The League Management Company has directed that the Week 33 Nigeria Professional Football League game between Ifeanyi Ubah FC and El Kanemi Warriors be replayed on October 28, 2015.

The game billed for Nnewi on Sunday did not hold as Borno state outfit failed to show up as their players refused to travel over unpaid wages.

Even at this, El Kanemi have been fined for their failure to show up at the league venue.

Nigeria: Shehu Dikko Appeals To Governors For Better Stadia

The states in Nigeria have a role to play in ensuring that they have good international standard stadia. Nigerian states can take a clue from south Africa where most of thier club sides use World Cup standard Stadia.

The League Management Company has appealed to state governors to support the growth of football with the upgrading of stadium facilities in their states.

Chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko believes Nigeria would march the giant strides recorded by top football leagues in Europe like England if the governors fund infrastructural upgrade and provide broadcast equipments at the stadia.

Bulgarian Coach Mitko Dobrev Petitions Ifeanyi Ubah FC Over Unpaid Fees

Bulgarian coach Mitko Dobrev has petitioned against FC IfeanyiUbah to the League Management Company (LMC) over some monies that were not paid to him by the Nigerian premier league club on his dismissal.

AfricanFootball.com has learnt that Dobrev, who has since returned to Bulgaria, has asked the LMC to order IfeanyiUbah to pay him a month’s salary of $5,000 being his severance pay.

His contract also stipulated he be paid a sign-on fee of $10,000, which he was not paid. His agent, Geoffrey Aghogi, confirmed to AfricanFootball.com Dobrev has petitioned to the LMC, adding that the coach was forced to sign his termination letter even when it was known that he cannot read English.

Oma Akatugba's Criticism Of NFF Force LMC To Name Award After Rashidi Yekini

We recently reported in June that Rashidi Yekini was remembered in his formal club Vitória de Setúbal in far away Portugal. A twitter handle linked to the NFF however quietly debunked the news saying he was remembered without a proof.

However an award  as been named Rashidi Yekini award which will go to the top goal scorer in the NPFL. We should however give kudos to @Omaakatugba who tweeted to lambast the NFF for forgetting such a national hero. Some young Nigerians spoke out their disappointment and also made it go viral online.

LMC To Dolphins FC - Pay Players Or Get 6 Points Reduction

The League Management Company (LMC) on Monday said it has asked Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt to settle its indebtedness to its player or face sanctions.

In a statement, the league organisers said the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club has 60 days to comply or it would lose six points and face further sanctions.
