Abia Warriors have signed the sacked coach of Sunshine Stars, Kennedy Boboye as the club's head coach.

The management of the Uchendu Warriors unvieled the 37-year-old former Nigeria U23 star at a ceremony that was witnessed by the club’s fans and well wishers in Umuahia.

Warri Wolves ended the league season in style after they thrashed Taraba FC 5-1 in a rescheduled match played at the Warri City Stadium on Monday morning.

Wolves finished as runners-up with 66 points from 38 matches, four points behind champions Enyimba, and they will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Champions League, while Nasarawa United will feature in the Confederation Cup.

Sunshine remain fifth on the league table with 56 points from 35 matches to keep their hope of getting a continental ticket alive.

The battle for survival in the Nigeria league will be fiercer than the battle for the championship as two teams are set to join Taraba and Bayelsa United on relegation with Kwara United, Dolphins, Sharks, Lobi Stars and El Kanemi Warriors all in danger.

FC Taraba and Bayelsa United are already doomed for relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL) with two rounds of games to the end of the season on November 15.

Both teams currently with 34 points from 36 games cannot tally more than 40 points with two games to go which won't be enough to save them from going down to the second-tier of Nigeria league.

The League Management Company has directed that the Week 33 Nigeria Professional Football League game between Ifeanyi Ubah FC and El Kanemi Warriors be replayed on October 28, 2015.

The game billed for Nnewi on Sunday did not hold as Borno state outfit failed to show up as their players refused to travel over unpaid wages.

Even at this, El Kanemi have been fined for their failure to show up at the league venue.

According to supersport.com players of El-Kanemi Warriors have decided to stay away from their NPFL clash at FC Ifeanyiubah on Sunday over unpaid match wages.

Chairman of the club, Zanna Mohammed, confirmed that the players refused to travel for the game in protest over unpaid wages.

"It is true that we did not make the trip (for the game against FC Ifeanyiubah)," began a disappointed Mohammed. "The players are insisting that they will not make the trip unless they are paid despite our pleas to them."
