Relegated Taraba FC players had to sleep outside the state house for 10 days before they could see the Governor. 10 days!!! just to see a Governor?
Is this not injustice? The Governor has now promised to pay just two months out of 11 months salary outstanding.
Players of troubled FC Taraba have agreed to call off their protest over 11 months' unpaid salaries after a frosty meeting with their sponsor, the Taraba State government, on Wednesday.
The players have been protesting unpaid wages of 11 months since December 14 by sleeping outside of the Taraba State Government House.
After 10 days and nine nights of sleeping out in a peaceful protest over money owed them, two of the players met with the Taraba governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, which offered little to cheer about.
The governor, according to the players, offered to pay two months out of the salary arrears after arguing that the players had been paid three months' salaries which they (the FC Taraba players) denied and put the record straight that they were paid just a month out of 12.
