Manchester City 2-1 Swansea: Toure Nets Late To Propel City To Top Of League Table

Manchester City moved top of the Premier League with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Swansea at the Etihad Stadium.

Wilfried Bony put City ahead against his former club, heading home a Jesus Navas corner midway through the first half. Bafetimbi Gomis' goal a minute from time looked to have secured the managerless Swans a deserved point.

But a deflected Yaya Toure strike in injury-time snatched all three points for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who were far from convincing throughout.

City duly return to the Premier League summit, although Leicester and Arsenal could both be back above them come Monday.

Swansea, meanwhile, remain a point above the relegation zone with their winless run now standing at five games.
