NPFL: Which Team Will Join Bayelsa & Taraba For Relegation?

The battle for survival in the Nigeria league will be fiercer than the battle for the championship as two teams are set to join Taraba and Bayelsa United on relegation with Kwara United, Dolphins, Sharks, Lobi Stars and El Kanemi Warriors all in danger.

FC Taraba and Bayelsa United are already doomed for relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL) with two rounds of games to the end of the season on November 15.

Both teams currently with 34 points from 36 games cannot tally more than 40 points with two games to go which won't be enough to save them from going down to the second-tier of Nigeria league.

NPFL: My Goals Will Keep Dolphins Up - Godbless Asamoah

Ghanaian striker Godbless Asamoah has said his goals will keep Dolphins up just as Emem Eduok’s goals did so for the Port Harcourt club last season. This season, Dolphins are not far away from the drop zone.

“The league is still going on and I know if I cannot be league top scorer, then I can be for Dolphins, just like Emem (Eduok) did last season,” said Asamoah.

“Then after this season, I can continue my goals adventure next season,” he said.

The striker is expected to sign in a matter of days in a deal that would see him feature for the former Nigerian champions till the end of the current league season.

"We have been in talks with one of our former players in Victor Ezeji. He has agreed to join us for the rest of the season. I know a lot of people will wonder why Victor Ezeji, but he is very experienced and we want his experience to rub off on our players especially the strikers.

LMC To Dolphins FC - Pay Players Or Get 6 Points Reduction

The League Management Company (LMC) on Monday said it has asked Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt to settle its indebtedness to its player or face sanctions.

In a statement, the league organisers said the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club has 60 days to comply or it would lose six points and face further sanctions.
