NPFL: LMC Reschedules El-Kanemi, Ifeanyi Ubah FC Match

The League Management Company has directed that the Week 33 Nigeria Professional Football League game between Ifeanyi Ubah FC and El Kanemi Warriors be replayed on October 28, 2015.

The game billed for Nnewi on Sunday did not hold as Borno state outfit failed to show up as their players refused to travel over unpaid wages.

Even at this, El Kanemi have been fined for their failure to show up at the league venue.


“Having failed to promptly notify the LMC and the home team of the situation (i.e. its inability to honour the match), El-Kanemi Warriors FC   shall bear the cost of organizing the match in the sum of Two Million Naira only (N2,000,000.00),” a statement from the LMC read.

“In addition, El-Kanemi Warriors FC shall pay compensation to the home   team, FC Ifeanyiubah for loss of revenue in the sum of Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira only (N240,000).

“The Match Day 33 fixture: FC Ifeanyiubah vs. El-Kanemi Warriors is hereby rescheduled to be played on Wednesday, 28th October, 2015 at the same time and venue (i.e 4.00pm at the FC Ifeanyiubah International Stadium, Nnewi).”

Ifeanyi Ubah are ninth on the log with 47 points, while El Kanemi are 13th on the table with 43 points.
