The US president is a self-confessed fan of basketball and the Bulls, and was in town to see the sport's biggest star
Barack Obama managed to get a couple of hours away from running the United States of America to take in some basketball on Tuesday evening.
The NBA season got underway as Chicago Bulls took on Cleveland Cavaliers, and Obama was courtside in the Windy City to see the action unfold.
Basketball's biggest name and worldwide sport superstar LeBron James was in town with the Cavaliers.
However, King James couldn't lead this season's championship favourites to victory, as the Bulls made the perfect start to their campaign.
Thanks to 19 points from Nikola Mirotic and 18 from Derrick Rose, the Bulls claimed a 97-95 win on opening night, handing rookie head coach Fred Hoiberg a debut success.

For the away side, James was restricted to just 28 minutes on court due to injury fears over his back, but the 30-year-old still managed 25 points for Clevaland.
Before the game, James described it as an honour to play in front of the President.

He said: "He loves the game of basketball
"It's an honour for me to be a part of a venue and a spectacle that the president would like to come and watch.
"It's an honour for sure."
