John Chibuike Hits Brace For Rosenborg

Nigerian midfielder, John Chibuike got his preparations for the 2014 Norwegian Eliteserien off to the best possible start by netting a brace in a pre-season game. The 25-year-old netted the double to inspire Rosenborg to a 5-2 win over Swedish club, AIK Solna at the La Manga Club Football Centre.

Chibuike who started out as a defender for Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Enugu Rangers scored after 60 and 76 minutes as the Norwegian club romped to a big win in Spain. The midfielder scored nine league goals for Rosenborg last season and also bagged a double for the club in last season’s Uefa Europa League.


Chibuike scored 16 goals in 69 league appearances for Swedish club, BK Häcken between 2009 and 2011.

He then moved to Norway where he has already netted 19 times in 58 league appearances for Rosenborg.

Rosenborg are currently warming up for the 2014 Eliteserien which begins on March 30.
