Carlo Ancelotti assured that "Real Madrid's dream is to win the Champions League", but also stressed that his team are not giving up on the league. "We're not giving up on the fight for the championship, even if we are third," he said on 'RAI'.
The Real coach said that his team "have been ahead and unbeaten for a long time, but have ended up a little behind now with two consecutive defeats". Nevertheless, they "will carry on fighting during the run-in of an interesting championship".
Ancelotti said that Real is the "most complete" side which he has coached and recalled that "in addition to great players like Ronaldo, we have very promising youngsters and men with experience".
"Not only has Bale arrived this season, but so have players from the second team, who are great reserves," said Ancelotti, before praising the Real and Barcelona reserve sides which play in the Second Division. "They provide the perfect training ground" for the promises of the future.
"The reserve teams are better than loans. That way, the youngsters feel part of the club, and identify with its style of play and culture," he assured.
The Italian also talked about the state of football in his country, which he claimed is going through an "unusual time". Everybody knows that "it is necessary to invest in infrastructure and bring people back in touch with football," he explained.
"In general, it's not a question of culture, but one of cycles. I don't think they play better football in Spain; it's just different. Here it is more elaborate; more attention is paid to the spectacle. Football is more tactical in Italy," he remarked.
