LEAGUE ONE: Brentford Promoted To Championship After Rotherham Lost A 10-Goal Thriller

Brentford have been promoted to the Championship after beating Preston while Rotherham lost a 10-goal thriller to Wolves. The Bees needed victory against fellow promotion hopefuls Preston and for Rotherham and Leyton Orient to lose to Wolves - who secured their return to the Championship last week - and Crawley respectively.

Alan Judge's first-half penalty was enough for Brentford to secure a nervy win at Griffin Park in a match that finished a good 10 minutes before the thriller at Molineux, which Wolves won 6-4 after a late flurry of goals.

It was a nervous finish for Brentford fans, who - already aware of Orient's 2-1 defeat at Crawley - were on the pitch at Griffin Park as Rotherham came from 4-2 down to Wolves to level at 4-4 with two minutes remaining as Kieran Agard completed a hat-trick.

But Wolves nosed in front again as Nouha Dicko completed his own treble, adding a sixth in stoppage time to seal a win that all-but guarantees their status as League One champions.

The result also ensures Brentford - who suffered the agony of missing out on promotion last season after conceding following a late penalty miss - join them in the second tier.
