Well, some Bayern fans would have scratched their heads last night after seeing Toni Kroos doing some passing magic and i guess Guardiola was probably saying to his back room staff how on Earth did we allow this talent slip off us, lol. Madrid's gain and Bayern's loss that's the way it looks. The guy is simply fantastic....
Toni Kroos put in an imperious performance on his Real Madrid debut. The German star has seemingly immediately settled into life as a 'Madridista' and has already got his hands on another trophy just a month after lifting the World Cup.
The 24-year-old played as a holding midfielder, sitting in front of the back four with Modric playing as a playmaker to his right and James to his left. His varied passing style was on display with accurate short and long passes and he was also on corner-taking duty when required.
The German showed the very best of what he can offer, hardly losing possession at all and dictating play with consummate ease. Kroos is running the Real Madrid engine room from day one.
Kroos completed 73 passes in all, chalking up a passing accuracy rate of 95%. He ran 11.7 kilometres over the course of the 90 minutes and only committed three fouls, despite lining up in a defensive position. These figures speak for themselves.
