Jose Mourinho cut a forlorn figure in his post-match interview today, and it was actually hard not to feel sorry for him for once, as he looked a shadow of the cocksure man we’ve come to know.

The Portuguese was almost lost for words as he sought to explain how he and his team have fallen into this meltdown, which has seen them lose 3 games since the start of the season.

He visibly feels sorry for himself as he laments that ‘every mistake they make they are punished for'; for once, there was no blame attached to the referee or other nebulous dark forces.


But the most bizarre quote from the interview was undoubtedly in relation to the next game – Mourinho says they are ‘candidates’ to win that game.

What the hell does that mean?!
