Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi has told AfricanFootball.com he was delighted to be named man of the match in Lazio's 1-1 draw at Dnipro.
Onazi said he knew it was going to be a tough game at Dnipro, who were runners-up in last year's Europa League.
"I am happy to be named man of the match in the Europa league match against Dnipro,” he said.
“At the end of the day, the success of the team always has to come first. I always want to give my best for the team, so it's good when that such contribution is commended with such award. I hope to get better."
Onazi said a draw on the road will boost the confidence of Lazio.
"We knew we were playing against a tough opposition, finalists in the last season's Europa League. We set out to get the maximum points, but unfortunately we conceded a late equaliser,” he further told AfricanFootball.com
“The result will be good for our confidence as a team, and we hope to build on it."
