NPFL: Kano Pillars Can Finish In Top Four - Ubong Ekpai

Kano Pillars star Ubong Ekpai believes his side can still finish in the Nigeria Professional Football League top four at the end of the season.

Pillars have struggled for fitness and form since their robbery attack in March which saw the team depleted with injuries.

Though, mathematically ruled out of winning their fourth straight title, the Super Eagles invitee insists they are not losing sleep to end the season on a good note.

"I think it's been a great for me playing here with Pillars,” Ekpai told Goal. “I've been working hard all the time to remain fit and ready to help my team.”

"No doubt there has been a lot of ups and downs for the club this season, but I don't think we are really struggling as champions.

"This is because we are playing well just that luck has not been on our side this season. I believe strongly that we are going to finish in the top four by the end of the season.”

The former Akwa United star said his teammates are collectively mapping out strategies to ground out results in their next games stressing that they are back in shape.

"I believe in our team because everyone is back with Gambo Muhammed and Moses Otekpa. Our defeat against Sharks was due to poor concentration.

"We are putting our heads together as players to work things out. Our strategies are win our remaining away games and at worse draw them," he concluded.

Pillars are 10th on the log with 40 points and will host Abia Warriors in a Week 29 tie at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
