The backpages of several papers run with a story perpetuating the Mourinho Meltdown narrative tomorrow. It’s reported that the Chelsea boss flew into a foul-mouthed expletive rant at Roberto Martinez in the tunnel after the 3-1 defeat at Everton on Saturday afternoon.
While not exactly the most damning incident in isolation, launching into a rant like this could be seen as another example of Mourinho losing control, in the context of Chelsea’s early season crisis.
With three defeats in the opening 5 games, it’s the worst start of Mourinho’s managerial career, leaving Chelsea cast adrift in the title race. See the papers after the cut..
But – what could Mourinho have had to gripe about?
His side were beaten fair and square; for once there were no controversial incidents for him to fall back upon, such as a red card or an unpunished tackle by the opponent.
Unless Mourinho is still feeling sour grapes over missing out on John Stones…
