Chelsea Must Win - Nemanja Matic

Matic has come out to charge his team mates to win their next match against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The blues have been disappointing in the beginning of the league has they have only picked up 4 points in 5 matches.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has insisted that the club "have to win" against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League, following the 3-1 Premier League defeat to Everton on Saturday.

The Serbia player scored what turned out to be a consolation goal at Goodison Park, as a Steven Naismith hat-trick gave Everton all three points and left Chelsea 16th in the Premier League table.

Jose Mourinho's side have struggled this season after convincingly winning the title in 2014-15, managing just one win out of five games, falling to three defeats.

And Matic believes that the next two matches, against Maccabi and Arsenal, are must win games for the players' own confidence.

"It’s good we have another game in a couple of days against Maccabi," the 27-year-old midfielder told the club's official website.

"We have to win, for our own confidence and for the fans. Then we have a derby against Arsenal, so I hope we will be ready for that and we can take three points."

The Serbia international also spoke about the damaging defeat to Everton and insisted the Chelsea players were unhappy with the result but suggested that club deserved a draw.

"Of course we are not happy," Matic continued.

"Everybody is sad because of the result. Obviously we feel bad. We are in a difficult moment, and having four points after five games is not normal for our team.

"If you saw this game, I cannot say we deserved to win but we deserved a draw.

"Chelsea are not used to being on runs like we are at the moment but this is the reality. We have to work hard to get our game back to the way we played last season.

"I really don’t know what’s happened but it’s not good for us and we need to see what we can do better as a team."
