Van Gaal Will Win Trophies This Season Says Rojo

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has no doubt that manager Louis van Gaal will bring back glory to Old Trafford. After David Moyes's ill-fated succession of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Dutchman took over last summer and led the Red Devils back into the Champions League at the first time of asking.

His next goal is to secure United's first silverware since 2012-13 but Rojo, one of the boss' first signings at Old Trafford, has seen enough to be certain that it will come.

The Argentina international told the press: "Louis van Gaal will be successful at Manchester United. He will win trophies. For me, that's not even a question.

Marcos Rojo Eager For Manchester United Debut

Marcos Rojo is relishing the prospect of making his Manchester United debut next week. Argentina international Rojo signed for United from Sporting Lisbon last month in a deal worth £16million, but has not yet featured for his new club due to delays in him being given a visa.

However, the UK Border Agency granted the left-sided defender permission to live and work in the country earlier in the week, meaning he is now free to play for United. Rojo is therefore in line to make his Premier League bow when Louis van Gaal's side host QPR after the international break on September 14.

MANCHESTER UNITED: Paul Scholes Questions Blind's Move

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has questioned the club's move for Ajax defender Daley Blind.
Blind is expected to sign for United in the coming days after the Premier League club announced on Saturday that they have had an offer - which Ajax later confirmed to be €17.5million (£13.8m) - accepted for the player. The 24-year-old starred for the Netherlands at this year's World Cup under now-United manager Louis van Gaal.

But Blind's versatility may also be his downfall, according to United icon Scholes, who feels the player may be forced into central midfield.

Marcos Rojo Confirms Manchester United Move

Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo confirmed he will be joining Manchester United in a "dream" move.
Rojo's future has been the centre of much speculation after United expressed an interest in the Argentina international following his exploits at the World Cup in Brazil last month.

United's attempts to sign Rojo hit a snag when Sporting and the Doyen agency, who own 75 per cent of the 24-year-old's rights, were embroiled in a public row over a potential transfer fee.

Rojo also missed training last week to force through a move to the Premier League, though he was later disciplined by the Portuguese club.

Meet Manchester United Target Marcos Rojo

Marcos Rojo is the latest transfer target to measure up to the very particular specifications of Louis van Gaal.
The Manchester United boss has been on the look-out for extremely specific players all summer, to the point where he has prioritised the signing of a left-footed, ball-playing centre-back who can provide cover on the left flank. No mean feat.

And after Thomas Vermaelen chose Barcelona, a decision which left Van Gaal reeling, Rojo has emerged as a priority target.

The 24-year-old was impressive at left-back in the Argentina team which reached the World Cup final, and has played centre-back at Sporting for two years, starring as they finished second in Portugal last season.

WORLD CUP: Watching Messi's Magic Is A Fantastic Experience Says Marcos Rojo

Argentina's Marcos Rojo says that having a first-hand view of Lionel Messi's magic is "a fantastic experience".

The versatile defender has been one of his country's more reliable performers at the World Cup thus far and netted the winner in Wednesday's 3-2 defeat of Nigeria, a result which saw the Albiceleste progress to the last 16 as winners of Group F.

However, Rojo has been left in awe by the performances of his captain, who has scored four goals in three games, including a double against the Super Eagles.
