My Legs Are Trembling With Desire To Play - Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho says his legs are "trembling with desire" to play football after joining Fluminense on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old left Mexican side Queretaro earlier this summer after spending last season with the club, but still retains the drive to play on. He said: "It's good to return for a big club. I'm very happy and motivated.

"I wanted to play after seeing the stadium (Maracana) and the fans with all their support. My legs are trembling with desire to play. On July 27th, I start preparations."

Brazilian website Globo are reporting on Saturday night that Ronaldinho has agreed to join Fluminense.

Ronaldinho has been a free agent since being released by Mexican club Queretaro with a year left on his contract. It had looked like Ronaldinho was going to sign with Turkish club Antalyaspor, however it now looks certain that Fluminense will sign the 35-year-old midfielder star.

                      Argentina held an open training session on Wednesday in Brazil, and after the session drew to a close several fans made a beeline straight for Lionel Messi.

The first fan, a tall, balding Brazilian fan, sunk to his knees, touched Messi’s feet like their were holy, and he was rewarded as Messi took off his training top and handed it to him.

That fan was followed by a kid wearing an Argentina short, before Messi was forced to burst out laughing when a Ronaldinho lookalike joined in the pitch invaders.

On New Year’s Eve, established Uruguayan paper El Pais announced their well respected end of season awards and Ronaldinho scooped top honours being crowned ’Rei da América’ (King of America).

Ronaldinho won the award for the first time in his career after leading Atletico Mineiro to success in the continent’s most prestigious league competition, the Copa Libertadores.

Ronaldinho won the vote made by journalists from around the continent with 156 votes. Neymar, who played at Santos at the start of 2013, got 81 votes. while Newell’s Maxi Rodriguez took 79 votes.
