Suwon 2015: Nigeria 2-1 Brazil

The Golden Eaglets have had a first taste of victory after defeating Brazil in the Suwon 4-Nation tournament holding in South Korea.

Nigeria U17 team were 2-1 better than their Brazil U17 opponents at the ongoing Suwon International tournament in South Korea.

First half strikes from Kingsley Michael and Chukwudi Agor  were all the Golden Eaglets needed to subdue Carlos Amadeu’s boys at the Suwon World Cup Stadium, though Brazil pulled one back courtesy of David Enogela’s second half own goal.

Nigeria's Golden Eaglet held the host to a 1-1draw in the opening match of the Suwon 2015 invitational cup. Amuneke will be expecting his young lads to put up a better performance when they meet Brazil.

Nigeria U17 played a 1-1 draw with hosts Korea U17 in the opening match of the 2015 Suwon International Youth Football Tournament played on Wednesday.

Funsho Bamgboye’s 26th minute strike pulled the Golden Eaglets back to level terms after Lee Sang Heon’s third minute effort put Choi Jin-cheul’s side aside in the third minutes.

Golden Eaglets Jet Out To South Korea For 4-Nation Invitational Tournament

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglet will jet out of the country on Sunday to honour a 4-nation invitational tournament which will also feature Brazil and Croatia.

The invitational is part for the team’s preparations for the U17 World Cup in Chile.

The tournament was originally billed to have held in April, but had to be shifted because of the outbreak of a MERS epidemic in South Korea.

This will be the fourth game involving these sides and third to have taken place in a World Cup.

This is the third time South Korea are facing Belgium at the World Cup, their joint-most faced opponent in the competition alongside Spain.

Russia have only kept one clean sheet in their last six World Cup games, it was against Tunisia on 5 June 2002 (2-0).

This is South Korea's eighth World Cup in a row (since 1986); only Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina and Spain can boast a longer streak currently.

South Korea have only won two of their last 10 World Cup games (against Togo in 2006 and Greece in 2010).
