Injury Rules Oasze Odemwingie Out Of Capital One Cup

The hope of Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie to get his season back on track at Stoke City has suffered a setback as he is ruled out of Tuesday's Capital One Cup against Sheffield Wednesday.

The 34-year-old is injurd with "a slight hamstring pull," according to Stoke City manager Mark Hughes.

"Peter has got a slight hamstring pull, so isn't available," said Hughes.

Nigerian striker, Peter Odemwingie, has extended his stay at Barclays Premier League club, Stoke City. The club announced on their official website that the 33-year-old has "signed a new one-year contract extension."

The former Cardiff and West Brom man will now stay at Stoke until the end of the 2015/16 season.
Odemwingie also have an option of staying at the Britannia Stadium for "a further 12 months."

Stoke City explained that they decided to hand Odemwingie a new contract due to his recovery from a knee injury at the start of last season. Odemwingie had to endure an eight-month spell following the injury and made a return to the Stoke setup in April against Sunderland.

Peter Odemwingie has been assured of a new deal with Stoke City even if he doesn’t play the ball before his current contract expires.
