I Have No Hard Feelings Over LeBron James - Chris Bosh

Miami Heat star Chris Bosh told reporters Thursday that he has in fact spoken to LeBron James, something he said Tuesday he had not done, since the Cavaliers star returned home by spurning his Big 3 teammates on South Beach. Bosh also made it clear that no matter what their relationship is now, there are no hard feelings between him and the King.

From the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

"My time is backward, but yeah, we talked," Bosh said. "I want to get people to understand that I'm a competitor. He's on another team. I think he understands that. I understand that. Everybody else understands that. We had plenty of time to talk in the summer, and that's how it is now."

"It's no hard feelings," Bosh said. "Like I said, anybody would understand. Like I keep telling people in Miami, if it comes down to us trying to win a championship, and them trying to win a championship, he's against us. That's what it is. That's a matter of fact."

Bosh said he does plan to greet James on the court before Saturday's game. That will serve as plenty time to relive old times.

"We'll see each other on the court," Bosh said. "That will be plenty of time to catch up and we'll move on from there."

Still, the context of Bosh and James' relationship has been odd since James departed to consider free agency in late June in Vegas. He, Wade, and Bosh were spotted having lunch before free agency began to discuss their futures, and the outcome was such that the three "decided to go their separate ways to decide to do." Hard to believe that was the case since Bosh effectively waited until James decided to make his decision on where he would sign, despite re-signing with Miami.

Then Bosh departed for Africa for a safari with his family and was off the grid for the entire time, right on through when he agreed to re-sign with Miami. James spoke with Wade prior to the decision, even flying back with him the night before James' decision was released to Sports Illustrated.

But he never spoke with Bosh.

Maybe Bosh is being honest and there's no problem with that. But Bosh, more so than Wade, was the biggest reason James won two titles, beyond his own immaculate talent. Bosh has been the second best player for Miami the past three years. And now James is back to being a competitor. And despite agreeing to team up with someone he was competing with four years ago, that time is over. Bosh seems ready to put the past behind him, but he's going to be dealing with the fallout from the breakup of the Triad in Miami for years to come.
