PRE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Watch Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid (4-1)

Benitez Hits Mourinho With A Bombshell

Benítez was critical of Mourinho during an interview he gave to Napoli's club website. The Spaniard responded to the Portuguese, who had played down what Benítez had achieved last season at Chelsea.

"Mourinho talks a lot about a lot of people, but I prefer to talk about the facts. At Liverpool we knocked his Chelsea side out of the Champions League with a team that cost half as much as his."

He also referred to Mourinho's time at Real: "He coached a very strong and expensive Real Madrid side and he left without winning the Champions League. In three years he did nothing in Europe."

ANCELOTTI: We Are Still After La Liga

Carlo Ancelotti assured that "Real Madrid's dream is to win the Champions League", but also stressed that his team are not giving up on the league. "We're not giving up on the fight for the championship, even if we are third," he said on 'RAI'.

The Real coach said that his team "have been ahead and unbeaten for a long time, but have ended up a little behind now with two consecutive defeats". Nevertheless, they "will carry on fighting during the run-in of an interesting championship".

Ancelotti said that Real is the "most complete" side which he has coached and recalled that "in addition to great players like Ronaldo, we have very promising youngsters and men with experience".

Dubbed the last 3 minutes, it was a fantastic achievement for this set of United players who refused to give up. The memory gives excitement to United fans while it hurts Bayern fans. With Guardiola having the edge over this team in previous meetings in the Ferguson regime only time will tell if the domination will continue with a fumbling David Moyes led United team. AFFECTION!!! Federation Of Real Madrid Fan Clubs Writes Open Letter To Ronaldo

In an open letter, the Federation of Real Madrid Fan Clubs has wanted to make clear that gives its "unconditional" support to Cristiano Ronaldo, after the player had been the subject of some booing and jeering in last weekend's game against Rayo Vallecano at the Bernabéu.

The letter reads as follows:

"To our dear Cristiano Ronaldo,
Last Saturday you were sure to hear down there on the Bernabéu pitch, from where you have given us such strength, pride, hope and many goals, some whistling. From all of us at the Federation or Real Madrid Fan Clubs, we would like to make the following clear:

MANCHESTER UNITED vs BAYERN MUNICH: All You Need To Know

Manchester United have been on the wrong end of some humiliating results at Old Trafford this season, none more so than the 3-0 losses inflicted by fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League over the past month.

Those beatings have prompted the same question among many United fans: Just how is the team going to prevent another thrashing by Bayern Munich, currently the best team in Europe, in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals?

For arguably the first time in the Champions League era, United head into a home match as the underdog - and for good reason.

John Obi Mikel Set For Chelsea Exit

Fresh reports from London have claimed John Obi Mikel wants to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

The report is coming only days after his agent denied the player is interested in moves away from Stamford Bridge. A report in the Daily Mail said that the Nigeria star, 26, wants to leave because he has found first-team opportunities restricted since manager Jose Mourinho’s return last summer.

The January arrival of Nemanja Matic, an important addition in a holding role, has further limited Mikel’s chances. But he still has three years on his contract and the Blues would demand a hefty fee.

Liverpool In Control Of Premier League Title

It's on, make no mistake. Anfield's dream of a first league title since 1990 is looking ever more like glorious reality. To Liverpool, this is everything.

Brendan Rodgers' side enter April top of the Premier League. Defeat for Chelsea and a draw for Manchester City had led to whispers across Merseyside before today's game that this could just be Liverpool's year. They're shouting it now.

This 4-0 dismantling of a Tottenham side so lacking in belief, ideas or any semblance of fighting spirit has become par for the course. An opening goal in a matter of minutes followed by total domination - we've seen this one before.

AFRICA: Coton Sport Out Of Champions League

ES Setif progressed into the Group phase of the CAF Champions League with their 1-0 victory over Coton Sport in their match at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua on Sunday afternoon.

The Algerian outfit will progress on a 2-0 aggregate after striker El Hedi Belameiri, who scored in the first leg, netted the only goal of the match in the 11th minute.

Kheireddine Madoui’s men outperformed the Cameroonians in both legs of the match-up to ensure their spot in the final eight of the competition. This is the first time in four years that the 1988 African champions will feature in the group stages and it is one they will be looking to progress even further from.

Jose Mourinho Blasts Crystal Palace's Ball Boy For Time Wasting

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has called out a Crystal Palace ball boy after the Special One felt the kid was wasting time as the Eagles beat the Blues 1-0 on Saturday.

Towards the end of the match at Selhurst Park, a ball boy was accused of mucking around with the Chelsea players as he took his time throwing a ball to Blues full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

Remembering the incident last season at Swansea when Eden Hazard kicked a ball boy, Mourinho stepped into the fray, put his hand on the young boy to draw him in close, before whispering something in his eye which one can only assume for some parenting tips from the Chelsea manager.

LILLE 1 Guingamp 0: Solomon Kalou Scores Late Winner For Lille

Lille tightened their grip on third place in Ligue 1 with a dramatic 1-0 injury time victory over Guingamp on Sunday.

Ivory Coast international Salomon Kalou came off the bench to prod the ball home in the 92nd minute to snatch three desperately needed points for Rene Girard's side.

The match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw before Kalou popped up inside the six yard box to knee the ball home following a corner from the right that led to a scramble.

XAVI: Atletico Madrid Are As Good As Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes his side’s Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid will be even as both teams have a great chance of progressing to the semi-finals.

The two sides meet in the first-leg of their quarter-final clash at Camp Nou on Tuesday and both are in good form as they remain separated by just one point at the top of La Liga.

And Xavi feels there is nothing to separate the two sides, admitting that the Blaugrana don’t like playing against Diego Simeone’s side and praising their star striker Diego Costa.

FULHAM 1 EVERTON 3: Toffees Close Gap On Arsenal

Two second half substitutions from Roberto Martinez helped Everton to take three points from Fulham at Craven Cottage, reducing the gap between the Toffees and fourth placed Arsenal to only four points.

The home side’s intense pressure in the first 45 minutes had kept Everton at bay, but a frantic second half featured a flurry of goals and some decisive interventions by Toffees subs Steven Naismith, Kevin Mirallas and Aiden McGeady.

The visitors had struggled to impose themselves in the opening period and Fulham managed to trade punches well with their opponents, with young striker Moussa Dembele looking particularly impressive.

SEX SCANDAL!!! Three Manchester United Stars In Foursome With Claire McMullan

The Sunday Sun have stitched up Manchester United trio Adnan Januzaj, Shinji Kagawa and Sam Johnstone for getting caught having had online conversations with a blonde in a chat room.

One can only assume that the intention of the Sunday Sun in revealing this story is to paint the Man United players out as sex crazy footballers who have their eye off the ball.

Of course, the story is a simply a shameful takedown piece aimed at ruining the reputations of the footballers whilst offering no judgement call on the woman at the centre of the article who sold her story to the paper. It’s so sad.

LIVERPOOL 4 TOTTENHAM 0: Reds Go Top After Spurs Bashing

Liverpool routed Tottenham for the second time this season to move two points clear at the top of the Premier League with their eighth consecutive victory.

The visitors' resolve was broken inside two minutes when Glen Johnson's low cross was turned into his own net by Younes Kaboul, and Luis Suarez doubled the Reds' lead with a clinical finish on 25 minutes.

Coutinho added another layer of gloss to the scoreline with a wonderful low drive from distance on 55 minutes before Jordan Henderson's free-kick flew through a mass of bodies to compound Tottenham's humiliation.

Chinedu Obasi Impresses Stephen Keshi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi is impressed with the recent displays of winger, Chinedu Obasi at German club, Schalke 04.

Obasi scored one and made another as Schalke defeated Hertha 2-0 at the Veltins Arena on match day 28 of the Bundesliga. It was his second league goal in his last five league games for the club.

He opened the scoring in the 16th minute via a touch of brilliance. The former Lyn Oslo man latched on to a delightful cross field pass from Saed Kolašinaca and left two Hertha players in his wake before round goalkeeper, Rune Jarstein.

JOSE MOURINHO: I Told Ferguson I Wanted To Go To Chelsea

With David Moyes enduring a miserable season and Champions League qualification looking all but impossible, talk has naturally turned to other coaches who could have taken up the Old Trafford hotseat, among them José Mourinho.

The ever-controversial Portuguese manager has claimed that he discussed his future with Alex Ferguson before the choice had been made to appoint then Everton boss Moyes:

"I spoke with Sir Alex when my Real Madrid team knocked United out of the Champions League last season and I told him what I wanted to do - that Chelsea is what I wanted. That was the direction I wanted to go", he stated.

DANI ALVES: Barcelona Will Fight To The End

Dani Alves says Barcelona and the rest of La Liga are "playing for their lives" after his side's narrow 1-0 win over Espanyol.

The Blaugrana secured three points in the Catalan derby through a 77th-minuted Lionel Messi penalty to maintain pressure on leaders Atletico Madrid, who remain just a point ahead.

Barcelona remain in contention for their 23rd league title but Alves reminded fans and pundits alike that comfortable wins are rare pleasures in a title run-in.

Lewis Hamilton Wins Malaysian Grand Prix In Style

Lewis Hamilton ended a run of nine races without a podium finish by taking the Malaysian Grand Prix by storm – cruising to a lights-to-flag victory at the Sepang International Circuit.

The Brit was joined by team-mate and Australia GP winner Nico Rosberg on the podium as Mercedes continues their brilliant start to the season with a one-two, while defending champion Sebastian Vettel came home in third.

Having secured pole with a dominant performance in qualifying, Hamilton absolutely flew round the track and eventually finished 17.3 seconds clear of his partner.

Ancelotti Blasts Madrid Fans Over Ronaldo Jeers

Carlo Ancelotti said he could not understand the Real Madrid supporters’ criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo during Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano. Cristiano Ronaldo was subjected to jeers from the crowd during Real Madrid's victory.

Despite scoring the goal that had Madrid ahead at the break, Ronaldo was subjected to whistles from the Bernabeu in apparent frustration at his refusal to play the ball to his teammates. Gareth Bale, too, faced jeers before scoring two second-half goals, as did Karim Benzema.

“I have always said that sometimes I understand whistles because they can be deserved,” Ancelotti told the media in quotes reported on Madrid’s official website. “Right now, no -- the players are putting in a lot of effort. We need the help of everyone. Whistling Cristiano isn't comprehensible.”

MARCEL DESAILLY: Chelsea Are Still Title Contenders

Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly insists his former side’s Premier League title hopes are still very much alive, despite a slip-up against Crystal Palace.

John Terry's own-goal saw the Blues slump to a shock 1-0 defeat to the Eagles, with manager Jose Mourinho insisting the team's title hopes were over with the loss.

But, speaking to the Weekend Sports Breakfast, Desailly said the Blues need to believe they can still finish first, with the unusual nature of this season’s Premier League making anything possible.

Mark Hughes Hails Hot Osaze

Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes is delighted with the impact made by Nigerian striker, Peter Odemwingie. Odemwingie has scored five league goals for Stoke since joining from Cardiff City in January.

His latest strike was recorded in the 62nd minute on Saturday as the Potters beat Hull City 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium on match day 32 of the 2013/14 Barclays English Premier League season. It left Hughes in positive spirits and he took the time to praise his Nigerian acquisition whose form in front of goal has left many an eyebrow raised.

"We're pleased with what he's producing. He's obviously come in and he wasn't a risk really because he's an accomplished Premier League player who has scored goals at this level so we know what we were getting,” Hughes said at the post match press conference.

Arsene Wenger Wants Arsenal To Keep Fighting On

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side's Premier League title hopes remain alive as Saturday's results proved that "everyone can beat everybody".

The Gunners' charge for glory has slowed in recent weeks, with a 6-0 hammering by Chelsea on March 22 followed up with a 2-2 home draw with Swansea City, but they battled back for a 1-1 draw with rivals Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium while the Blues suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

"What happened to Chelsea doesn't help us because it doesn't give us more points," he told reporters. "It just shows that we have absolutely to fight until the end of the season because everyone can beat everybody.

YOBO LANDLORD SAGA: Yobo Brothers Blasts Landlord

Gideon Yobo, brother of Super Eagles star Joseph Yobo, has hit back at Ray Smith over claims of a wrecked apartment, saying the Liverpool landlord only sought "cheap" publicity.

Smith has claimed he was horrified when he saw the state in which a penthouse flat leased in his name had been left.

Smith has been widely quoted as saying there were burnt marks on the carpet, a dirty kitchen and bathroom, and holes in the wall left from a flat-screen television.

ARSENAL 1 MAN CITY 1: Gunners Hold City At The Emirates

Manchester City are still title favorites and Arsenal are still favorites for fourth, but neither team strengthened their position on Saturday. They both played well in a 1-1 draw and can hardly argue that any other result was deserved, but it leaves both teams with lots of work to do in their coming fixtures.

The game was a wide-open one from the outset, which was hardly surprising given the attacking teams picked by both sides. Arsenal looked dangerous in the early going and had a penalty shout in the 12th minute when Tomas Rosicky went down under a challenge by Pablo Zabaleta, but the referee saw nothing in it.

Six minutes later, Arsenal were taken apart on the counter after a bad turnover. Mathieu Flamini put Lukas Podolski in a bad spot with a less than perfect pass, but Podolski didn't do much to control it, letting City steal the ball and take off on the break. Edin Dzeko hit the post at the end of the move and David Silva was in a perfect position to poke in the rebound.

STOKE 1 HULL CITY 0: Peter Osaze's Goal Fires Stoke To Victory

Peter Odemwingie scored the only goal of the game as Stoke edged a sleepy encounter with Hull at the Britannia.

Having both netted for the Potters in the 4-1 win at Aston Villa last week, Odemwingie and Peter Crouch led the line here for Mark Hughes' team. For the away side, former Newcastle United veteran Steve Harper took over in goal from the injured Allan McGregor.

The hosts just about shaded a fairly mundane first half, although it was Tom Huddlestone who came closest to opening the scoring, bringing a fine save from Asmir Begovic with an effort from range.

MOURNHO: Chelsea Has No Chance Of Winning Premier League Title This Season

Jose Mourinho believes defeat to Crystal Palace leaves Chelsea with "no chance" of winning the Premier League title this season.

A John Terry own goal condemned the Blues to a 1-0 loss at Selhurst Park and, while they remain one point ahead of Liverpool and three ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table, both of their main rivals can now overtake them by winning their games in hand.

After the match a dejected Mourinho admitted Tony Pulis' men were good value for their victory and insisted the result kills Chelsea's hopes of winning their first title since 2010.

ESPANYOL 0 BARCELONA 1: Messi's Late Penalty Goal Seals Win For Barca

Lionel Messi converted a late penalty as Barcelona defeated city rivals Espanyol 1-0 to go back on top of La Liga.

The champions' challenge was reignited last weekend with a 4-3 Clasico win over Real Madrid and although they did steal a slender win at Cornella-El Prat, their fellow Catalans represented stern opposition until a late red card.

Both sides wasted numerous chances during the first half, with Neymar missing the best opening in the 19th minute as be blasted over from point-blank range.

MAN UNITED 4 ASTON VILLA 1: Juan Mata Scores First Career Goal As Red Devils Stun Villa

Manchester United ended a week of frustration on and off the pitch in fine fashion by beating Aston Villa 4-1 on Saturday.

Much of the game's build-up had been dominated by a planned protest against David Moyes' management of the struggling champions, with a plane trailing the message 'Wrong One - Moyes Out' flown above Old Trafford during the contest.

A midweek defeat to local rivals Manchester City was the latest of United's setbacks in a tough season, tipping some fans over the edge.

REVEALED!!! How Keshi Forced Segun Odegbami To Resign

Former Green Eagles captain Segun Odegbami, has disclosed that Stephen Keshi influenced his decision to retire from football.
Odegbami, who was known as ‘Mathematical’ in his playing days, was one of Nigeria’s most iconic players and led the national team to winning their first Africa Cup of Nations trophy on home soil in 1980.
He however has recalled how a young New Nigerian Bank of Benin team, which featured Keshi and Austin Eguavoen, humiliated his Shooting Stars team when they played in Ibadan.

Fortunes fluctuated over the three sessions, as did the conditions as the intensity of the rain continually forced drivers in and out of the pits as they switched from intermediate tyres to full wets.

JOSE MOURINHO: I Got Fed Up Of Spainish Atmosphere

José Mourinho spoke less than enthusiastically about his time in Spain during an interview with 'Radio Monte Carlo' (RMC), stating: "Working in Spain was a fantastic experience, but social life isn't easy there. I got fed up of the atmosphere".

"I like it in England. The relationship with the players, press and fans suits me better", the former Real Madrid manager added.

Wenger To Consider Arsenal Future At The End Of The Season

Arsene Wenger has hinted that he could still leave Arsenal at the end of the season, despite his intention to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have gone from title favourites to fourth in the Premier League following one of the most testing weeks of the Frenchman's tenure, with Chelsea thrashing his men 6-0 at Stamford Bridge before Swansea grabbed a 2-2 draw at the Emirates.

But when he was later pressed on if he will definitely be in the Emirates dugout next season, he responded: “Yes, unless I decide otherwise.

DAVID MOYES: Even Ferguson Would Have Suffered At United This Season

David Moyes claims even the great Sir Alex Ferguson would have struggled with the current Manchester United squad this season.

The Scot has come under increasing pressure at Old Trafford, following a 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City, but will be hoping to make a mends when Aston Villa visit Old Trafford.

United are guaranteed to end the year on their lowest points total in Premier League history, but Moyes insists any manager would have had difficulty turning what he describes as an "ageing" squad into title contenders.

NICE 0 PSG 1: PSG Moves 13 Points Clear In Lique 1

Paris Saint-Germain prepared for their Champions League showdown against Chelsea with a fortuitous 1-0 Ligue 1 win at Nice on Friday.

Laurent Blanc's men were handed a huge boost ahead of the midweek Champions League quarter-final first leg as Thiago Silva played the full 90 minutes despite suffering a fractured cheekbone last week but produced an unconvincing performance at the Allianz Riviera.

Yet the league leaders were still able to claim all three points and move 13 clear of Monaco ahead of their trip to Evian on Saturday.

Chinedu Obasi Scores For Schalke 04

Nigeria’s Chinedu Obasi was on target for Schalke 04 in their 2-0 defeat of Hertha Berlin in the German topflight at the Veltins-Arena on Friday night.

His right footed shot from a difficult angle on the right to the bottom right corner courtesy of an assist from Joel Matip put his side ahead in the 16th minute of the highly entertaining encounter.

Throughout the first half, Obasi was a thorn in the flesh of Hertha Berlin back line as his attacking moves tormented their defenders.

DAVID MOYES: United Fans Are Entitled To Protest

Manchester United boss David Moyes says a group of disgruntled fans who have paid for a plane carrying the banner 'Moyes Out' to fly over Old Trafford are “entitled” to protest.

The message, 'Wrong One - Moyes Out', is in reaction to a controversial 'Chosen One' banner that hangs inside the stadium, with sections of supporters keen to vent their frustration at the Scot.

The former Everton boss, though, was quick to downplay the significance of the protest, which will take place during Saturday's game against Aston Villa, and hinted that setbacks were to be expected as he begins rebuilding the club.

DAVID MOYES: No Rift Between Me & My Players

Under-pressure Manchester United manager David Moyes has dismissed rumours of a rift between himself and the squad.

Jose Mourinho says he is not surprised by Liverpool’s sensational progress in this title race, because Brendan Rodgers’ side have had the “perfect” conditions to take advantage.

The Chelsea manager also pointed to participation in European football as the reason why his side’s run-in remains the most difficult, despite a sequence against notionally lesser sides.

Mourinho admits that delivering Chelsea a first Premier League title in four years will be a tough order
“When you have six days a week to prepare a match, six days a week to train, maybe twice a day, you have conditions to improve that nobody else has,” Mourinho said of Liverpool.

Wenger Hits Back At Paul Scholes Says He Hasn't Managed A Game Before

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger slammed former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes' claims that the Gunners are "a million miles away" from challenging for the Premier League title.

The north London side's 6-0 humiliation at Chelsea last Saturday coupled with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Swansea on Tuesday night has left the Gunners six points behind the table-topping Blues.

In his role as a TV pundit, Scholes launched a fierce attack on Arsenal under Wenger, claiming they had "midfield players with no discipline" and adding that "there are no leaders" at the north London club.

Pulling no punches, the press release states the following:
The decision to fly a plane over Old Trafford bearing the slogan ‘Wrong One: Moyes Out’ is one borne out of acute frustration.

ARSENE WENGER: I Am Staying At Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has reaffirmed his commitment to Arsenal in the wake of one of the most testing weeks of his tenure and is hopeful that long-serving right-back Bacary Sagna will follow suit.

The Gunners manager appeared to concede defeat in the title race following the midweek draw against Swansea which represented a further setback following on from the painful 6-0 drubbing at Chelsea last weekend.

But Wenger insists he is has no desire to break his word, hinting he will remain in the job having agreed a new deal in principle.

Read The Interview Of The Proud Coach Of Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was a guest on The Sports Bar on Wednesday night after seeing his side maintain their title charge with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland at Anfield. Here’s what he had to say…

On Liverpool’s title hopes:
“It is unprecedented. We finished seventh last year and there is no team that has finished seventh that have gone on to win the league [the next season]. If you look at the two clubs above us they are superpowers of European football so the expectancy is with them and in particular Manchester City, because they have the games in hand. But for us, we have been developing and improving over 18 months. It hasn’t been easy at times but the players have been magnificent. We’ve scored many goals. Tonight [against Sunderland] was hard, but we got the victory and that is the winning mentality we have now.”

JOSE MOURINHO: I Expected Real Madrid To Have A Greater Advantage Over Barca

José Mourinho, ex-Real Madrid manager presently at the helm of Chelsea has declared that he had expected 'Los Blancos' to be "higher up" in the Spanish league at this point in the season.

"I am a little surprised. I expected Real Madrid to be higher up, with a greater advantage, because Barcelona have lost a lot more points than they have in the past three seasons", he pointed out during an interview with Eurosport.

"The English league has four clubs fighting for the title, while in the Spanish one there are three clubs with only two or three points between them", Mourinho said.
